Hey guys! Today I'm going to be doing a review and giveaway for
Sick Lacquers! It's a indie nail polish brand on etsy. Before I start reviewing the colors, I need to state a couple of important things.
Sick Lacquers sent me 7 mini polishes to review. 5 of them were metallic and 2 of them were glitters. The glitters came with sticks to mix them, just in case the glitter sunk to the bottom. The metallics came with two mixing balls.
As you can tell, the mica in the polish separated from the polish base and sunk to the bottom. This only happened in three of the metallics. I tried to shake them up again, but ended up having to use the sticks that came with the glitters to mix them back together.
The glitters didn't need to be mixed with the sticks.
These are the three metallics after they've been mixed with the sticks. They were back in perfect condition. Unfortunately, it didn't last this way for long. The next day, the mica had separated from the polish base again. This meant that every time I wanted to use any of these three polishes, I would have to get the sticks and mix them. I found it odd that the separating didn't happen with the magenta or gold metallic.
I just want to note that I did email the owner of Sick Lacquer, telling her what happened and that I would be posting about it in the review. She told me that it was perfectly fine and that I should just be honest, so she can make her products better. I think it's great that she has since an amazing attitude.

I loved the colors! I'm usually not a big fan of metallics, but these were gorgeous!
Metallic Gold- This had full coverage with one coat! This definitely leans more to yellow than to gold, though.
Metallic Pink- This was opaque in two coats. A bright, pretty pink.
Metallic Green- This was opaque in two coats. A beautiful, leafy green color.
Metallic Purple- Another two coater. A dark purple with blue and red flecks.
Metallic Blue- Probably my favorite out of the metallics! Very bright and pigmented! It was opaque in one coat, but I used two to be on the safe side.

The blue, purple and green before I mixed them back with the mica. The blue was actually a very pretty blue jelly that probably would of been opaque in 2-3 coats. The purple was pretty much clear with a barely noticeable purple tint. The green had even a less noticeable green tint. The pinky has nothing on it.

Now on to the glitters! The bottle on the left is Graffiti and the bottle on the right is Sugar Rush.

Shade (Pinky to thumb) Two coats of Graffiti, one coat of Graffiti on two coats of Sally Hansen Lickety Split Lime, two coats of Sugar Rush, one coat of Sugar Rush on top of two coats of white |

Graffiti is filled with blue, white, black and lilac glitters of all shapes and sizes. The label says Graffiti, but for some reason it's called Graffiti Party on her store. Graffiti has a clear base.
Sugar Rush has a milky white base with rainbow glitter. It has full coverage with two coats.
I love all the colors, but I do think that they should have a better formula for the metallic polishes. I also recommend for them to improve their labels because as of now, the labels are a piece of paper stick to the bottle with matte tape.
For the giveaway, you'll be winning your own Sugar Rush and Graffiti. This giveaway is open to the US only, sorry. You can find Sick Lacquers on their
etsy store,
facebook and/or
twitter.
